Advice

Baruch students are often frustrated by how difficult it is to get information from administration. For example, students often have questions about class registration, financial aid, and graduation. There are Facebook pages where students post questions about these things and their peers provide answers. However, these social media pages are run by students and there is no guarantee that the information that is shared is reliable since it is not coming directly from the college. I think it would be a good idea for the college to run similar social media pages where students can voice any questions and concerns and have them answered by staff. Many students often have the same questions, so a social media page would reduce the number of times that the staff would have to answer the same question. Additionally, new students often have trouble registering for classes because they are not familiar with the process. This can be very stressful since students worry about getting in to the classes they need before they are full. Therefore, it would be useful if the college created Youtube videos that show students how to do things like register for classes.

  1. Hello Trisha,
I like your post about Baruch Administration, because I could relate this situation with me. When I was new in this college, It was really hard for me get the information about registering courses and other important information about register and financial admission work. I also agree that a social media website can reduce the frequency of visiting the office as they might have the similar question like others.
