P2P

File sharing allows users to access and transmit data from one computer to another. For example, users can share documents with each other, which can make it easier for them to work together. P2P file sharing lets users access files using a software program that finds other computers that have a specific file that the user is looking for. In recent years, P2P file sharing has become very common. The technology allows users to share books, movies, and music with each other for free. BitTorrent is an application that allows users to engage in P2P file sharing. Unfortunately, many users use BitTorrent to share pirated copies of movies and TV shows. BitTorrent works by downloading pieces of a file from different computers. For example, in order to download a copy of a movie, a computer will look for other computers that have pieces of the movie, then download pieces of the file from several computers at once. While this is illegal, the practice is still prevalent and millions of copies of popular TV shows and movies can be found online.
